Xiaomi has confirmed that the sixth flash sale of the budget Redmi 1S will see 1,00,000 units going on sale on October 14.
Notably, the sixth flash sale on Tuesday will kick off at 2pm IST on Flipkart for registered users. Interestingly, this is first flash sale that will see up to 1,00,000 Redmi 1S units going on sale, an increase of 40,000 units compared to last two flash saleswhich saw 60,000 being made available.
Xiaomi, as part of the Flipkart Big Billion Day sale on Monday, offered 1,50,000 Redmi 1S units to consumers – the first Xiaomi sale in India not requiring registration.
Flipkart, the exclusive online retailer of Xiaomi handsets in India, claims that over 2,00,000 people have registered for the sixth flash sale of the Redmi 1S, priced at Rs. 5,999.
The Flipkart page suggests consumers to register for each flash sale separately and notes, “Registrations will not be carried over. You need to register again for next sale.”
Considering that limited stocks of the Redmi 1S (Review | Pictures) will be available in India, the popular e-commerce giant has revealed that it will limit orders to one phone per registered email ID per sale.
Xiaomi is also bundling a Micro SIM-card adapter and a screen protector with the Redmi 1S, and notes that orders will be delivered in 7-10 business days.
It’s worth pointing out that Flipkart’s procedure requires people to just add the handset to their cart for it to be classified as ‘sold out’, and people are given additional time to complete their purchase.
The company’s budget Redmi 1S smartphone follows in the Mi 3’s footsteps for breaking sales records with the entire inventory going out of stock within seconds in previous flash sales.
As of now, Flipkart has cumulatively seen 2,40,000 Redmi 1S units going out of stock in 31.2 seconds in its five flash sales thus far, according to the details revealed by Xiaomi. The last sale saw Redmi 1S going out of stock in 13.2 seconds.
The fourth flash sale saw 60,000 Redmi 1S units going out of stock in 5.2 seconds. 40,000 smartphones went out of stock in just 3.4 seconds in the third flash sale, a good second faster than the second flash sale, which saw 40,000 smartphones go ‘out of stock’ in 4.5 seconds, meanwhile the first flash sale saw 40,000 units going ‘out of stock’ in just 4.2 seconds.
It’s worth noting that Flipkart’s Big Billion Day sale also saw the last batch of Xiaomi Mi 3 smartphones going on sale at Flipkart.
Xiaomi India offered the Mi 3 to 25,000 consumers who had registered but were unable to buy the smartphone in previous sales, automatically adding the smartphone to their carts on October 6.
