Moto X4 Android One phone with dual cameras to launch in India soon
Motorola India on Wednesday teases to launch a dual camera phone in India in the forthcoming days. Although the company didn’t exactly confirm the name of the smartphone they will announce in India, but chances are that it is going to be the Moto X4. The smartphone was initially launched at the IFA 2017 event which happened in Berlin last month.
The company confirmed that the phone that is set to launch in India will come with dual cameras. It could either be the base variant of the Moto X4, or could be the Android One edition of the Moto X4. A popular tipster – Evan Blass last week hinted that Motorola is currently working on the Android One edition of the Moto X4. This will be the first Moto phone with Android One. Blass also leaked an image of the Moto X4 with Android One branding.
The Moto X4 Android One phone is said to be the same as the original Moto X4 in terms of specs and design. The only difference will be that the Android One edition of the Moto X4 will offer a pure Android experience. The price of the Android One edition will differ a bit from the original Moto X4.
Going by some reports that Motorola and Google were in works to bring an Android One phone for a long time now. Reports further hint that the Android One Motorola device will come with a price tag between — $200 and $300, which roughly translates to Rs 12,700 – Rs 19,000. Originally, Moto X4 bridges the gap between the premium and the budget phones. The smartphone is an upper-tier mid-range and will retail at 399 Euros, which translates to Rs 30,000 approx. Moto X4 Android One phone will be a budget device.
There are no specific details if Motorola will call the upcoming Android One powered phone Moto X4. Chances are that they may name the phone something else. Apart from the addition of the Android One program, and the change in the name – the phone will be same in terms of the specs will be the same as the original phone.
In terms of specs, Moto X4 comes with a 5.2-inch display with 1080p resolution and boasts a metal and glass design. The display is further protected with a Gorilla Glass 4 layer on top.
Moto X4 comes with an IP68 certification, which means that the new Moto X phone is water and dust resistant. On the camera front, the Moto X4 comes with two cameras at the back – one with 12-megapixel sensor – which is the primary camera, while the secondary camera comes with an 8-megapixel sensor which focuses on capturing wide-angle shots mainly.
The smartphone is powered by Snapdragon 630 processor coupled with 3 gigs of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which is expandable via a microSD card. The smartphone is backed by a 3,000mAh battery which as claimed by Motorola delivers a power backup for one single day. It also comes along with a 15-watt TurboPower charger which in 15 minutes of charge provides enough battery like for the phone to last for almost 6 hours.
Another key feature of the Moto X4 is the Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant. With Amazon Alexa, Moto X4 can be used in hand-free mode. Motorola, at the IFA launch event said that the new Moto X4 will respond to Alexa even when the device is locked. Moto X4 also includes Google Assistant, which is built into Android.
At IFA 2017, Motorola also confirmed that Alexa integration will come with all the other Motorola phones that will be announced in the days to come.
