With several international and local industrial giants rubbing shoulders against each other over four days, the 6th India Machine Tools Show 2015 served as a robust platform for India’s machine tools industry to showcase its innovation and strengthen collaborations with their international counterparts.
Over 150 exhibitors showcased the innovation in technology and design being undertaken by them at the four-day expo, putting special focus on innovation and better manufacturing in India’s machine tools sector.
The exhibition falls in line with the concept of ‘Make in India’ campaign, which is also an official supporter of the exhibition. Covering 40 sectors of the machine tools industry, the biannual event IMTOS witnesses participation of over 20 countries every year. This year too, industry executives from several countries including China, France, Germany & the US participated in the event.
Organized by K and D Communication Limited, the India Machine Tools Show (IMTOS) 2015 promises to provide a major interface between Indian manufacturers of machine tools and international companies to boost trade and exports.
The inauguration of the 6th edition of the exhibition was attended by some imminent dignitaries including Shri Kalraj Mishra, Union Minister for Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India, who said it is important to encourage entrepreneurship and promote start-ups for innovation in machinery and manufacturing industry in India. The minister emphasized that instead of importing products and tools from foreign countries, India as a developing country, should strive for manufacturing better machinery here by boosting skill development and support to small scale industries in line with ‘Make in India’.
“Improved technology in the sector translates into a multiplier effect on output and incomes. It is therefore absolutely critical to boost trade and facilitate more exchange between innovators, manufacturers and buyers. We started this exhibition with the intention to showcase the innovation being done in the manufacturing field. The overwhelming response from the industry has helped us to achieve remarkable success within a short span of three years,” said Mr. Kamlesh Gohil, CMD at K and D Communication Limited.
