Japanese telecom firm NTT Communications is planning to spend around Rs 1,000 crore over the next three years in India.
The company is applying for a long-distance license to interconnect its data centers and to trace client location with optical fibre cables.
Meanwhile the company may give rent some unused optic fibre cables as it is not looking at an acquisition at the moment.
In Japan, the company observed a fall in voice consumption on its networks by a third, being replaced by data consumption.
