Acer To Start Smartphone Manufacturing In India

The company has invested $10 million to begin the assembly of smartphones.

Many foreign smartphone manufacturers like Lava, Karbonn, Xiaomi and Gionee have set up assembly operations in the country in line with the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.

These companies are eyeing to tap India’s multi-billion dollar fastest growing smartphone markets in the world.
The Indian handset industry is forecasted to overtake the US as the second-largest market in next few years.
