Aircel has gifted a new extra credit service to Delhi’s customers, but only for pre-paid customers.
Telecom operator Aircel has silently launched a new extra credit service in the capital territory of New Delhi, India. The service was rolled out from Saturday onwards, and is introduced only for the prepaid customers. The subscribers can use the service whenever their balance goes below Rs 10.
The new service can be availed by users, by sending an SMS with “LOAN” as text, once their balance runs out low, to 55414 to get the credit transferred to their balance account.
According to the customer care department of Aircel, a customer needs to be on the company’s network for a minimum of eighteen months to avail the scheme. Also, the customers will be charged Rs 2 as a convenience fee, as they have their next recharge. It expected to be rolled out in other circles, soon but there is no confirmation on the time period. Although there is no information about how much amount will the company credit when customer asks for it, but we are assuming that it is likely to be Rs 10, which is similar to other service providers.
Telecom service providers like Airtel and Vodafone are already offering micro credit services for their prepaid customers in India. These services are seen as a part of marketing strategies.
