Airtel partners with Itel to launch 4G smartphone at effective price of Rs 3,099

Airtel has now joined hands with itel to launch two new budget 4G smartphones — itel A40 4G and itel A41 in India today. The new itel A40 4G and itel A41 are announced at an effective price tag of Rs 3,099 and Rs 3,199 respectively. Both the itel smartphones are launched as a part of Airtel’s ‘Mera Pehla Smartphone’ initiative. Under this initiative, Airtel is aiming to “build an ecosystem of partners to make 4G smartphones within the reach of everyone” — as claimed by the telecom operator.
The market price of itel A40 4G is Rs 4,599, while itel A41 is available at a price tag of Rs 4,699. However, Airtel users will get Rs 1500 cashback benefit on buying the 4G smartphones, thereby, significantly reducing the effective cost of device ownership. Both smartphones will come bundled with a monthly recharge pack of Rs 169 from Airtel which comes along with data as well as calling benefits.
Customers will first need to make a down payment of Rs 4,599 for the itel A40 and Rs 4,699 for the itel A41. To get the total Rs 1500 cashback, the customer will need to make do recharges worth Rs 4000 over a period of 36 months. Note: the customer will get total Rs 1500 cashback only after 36 months. During the first 18 months, the customer should make a recharge of Rs 3,000 to be eligible for the first cashback installment of Rs 500. While, to be eligible for the second installment of Rs 1,000, the customers will need to complete another set of recharges worth Rs 3000 over the next 18 months.
As far as the specifications are concerned, both the 4G smartphones comes with the exact same specifications. Both the itel A40 and A41 come with a 5-inch FWVGA display with 480×854 pixels resolution and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat software. The 4G smartphones are powered by 1.3 GHz Quad core processor coupled with 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage which can be expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card. On the camera department, the itel phones come with a 5-megapixel rear camera with auto focus and LED flash. On the front the phones include a 2-megapixel senor in its front camera which comes along with LED flash as well. The phones are backed by a 2,400mAh battery.
Itel A40 comes in three colour options including — Black, rose gold and dark blue. While the itel A41 is available in — Champagne, Calx and Rose Gold colours.
