ITVoice News: The much-awaited Firefox phone from the camps of Alcaltel OneTouch has finally arrived. Of course, the company is a bit late in the job and has done it after Intex and Spice, but as they say, better late than never! TCL Communication’s Alcatel OneTouch is the third vendor to introduce a Firefox OS smartphone in India.
The company has announced the launch of Fire C smartphone at a price of 1,990. The smartphone will be available exclusively via Flipkart.
Speaking about the launch, Praveen Valecha, Regional Director, APAC BU India for Alcaltel OneTouch, said, “As a launch partner for Firefox OS, we know that our customers love its simple user interface and smooth navigation. We see a great deal of opportunity to bring these benefits to more consumers on a greater variety of devices at most affordable price and we are sure of success as it’s an innovative product selling on Flipkart, India’s largest e-commerce platform.”
The Alcatel OneTouch Fire C comes packed with an 8.9-cm (3.5-inch) HVGA display and runs on 1GHz Spreadtrum 6821 processor. It features 128MB of RAM along with 1.3MP rear camera and 1000 mAh battery. The phone offers dual-SIM support and runs on Firefox OS 1.3. It also brings 65GB of user storage and microSD card slot. Alcatel OT has given it an Indian touch by adding support for Bangla, Tamil and Hindi languages on the smartphone. The smartphone is available in Bluish Black and Dark Chocolate options
