Amped Wireless, the leading manufacturer of high power, long-range wireless communication products for the home and office, announced today that it inadvertently shipped its new REC10 High Power Compact Wi-Fi Range Extender with the UL Mark prior to evaluation and certification by UL. The mislabeled REC10 units that are currently in the market are identified below.
We apologize to our customers and to UL for the oversight that occurred with the REC10,” said Amped Wireless CEO, Jason Owen. “We are diligently working with UL to complete the certification process for future shipments of the REC10. We have removed the UL Mark from the product until the certification process is completed, and would like to add that this has no impact on the performance and experience customers can expect from the REC10.
The mislabeled REC10 units were not evaluated by UL to any Standard for Safety and are not authorized to bear the UL mark can be identified by the following first five digits on the product serial number: 032713 and 032913.
