This new wave of PCs integrates a high-performance Neural Processing Unit (NPU) with the CPU and GPU, creating a powerful system architecture. Enhanced by large language models (LLMs) running in the Azure Cloud and small language models (SLMs) locally, these PCs deliver unprecedented performance, up to 20 times more powerful and 100 times more efficient for AI workloads than previous models. They also outperform Apple’s MacBook Air 15” by up to 58% in sustained multithreaded performance, while offering up to 22 hours of local video playback or 15 hours of web browsing on a single charge.
Windows on Copilot+ PCs boasts the best implementation of apps on the fastest chips, starting with Qualcomm. The ecosystem now includes native Arm64 experiences for Microsoft 365 apps and popular third-party apps like Chrome, Spotify, Zoom, and more, with 87% of total app usage being native Arm versions. A powerful new emulator, Prism, ensures great performance for both native and emulated apps.
Security is a top priority for Copilot+ PCs, with each device featuring the Microsoft Pluton Security processor enabled by default.
