Apple TV got a price cut in the US on Monday, with the media streamer now being sold in Apple’s homeland at $69, down from the $99 price tag since the launch of the third-generation product. The price cut is not restricted to the US market, with the Apple TV also receiving similar price drops elsewhere.
Apple TV will get a price cut of Rs 2,000 in India and will retail at Rs 5,900. With this, Apple TV gets more affordable for the Indian audiences, but is still double the price of its competitors like Google Chromecast.
Apple TV is a media device that allows the users to connect their TVs via the HDMI port, to facilitate the streaming of videos from sites like YouTube and Vimeo, with content from partners like MLB, NFL, NHL, and others also available.
