Arunachal Pradesh set to implement eGovernance initiatives

As part of NeGP, the Department of Tax and Excise, Arunachal Pradesh is all ‘set’ to implement complete automation of the commercial tax administration

ITANAGAR, INDIA: The Department of Tax and Excise, Arunachal Pradesh is all ‘set’ to implement the commercial tax administration of the state under the Mission Mode Project for Computerization of Commercial Tax (MMPCT).

 

This initiative is a part of the Government of India’s National e-Governance Plan (NeGP).

 

T Jongkey, Joint Commissioner, Tax & Excise declared this during a dealers’ awareness programme organized by the department of Tax & Excise at Naharlagun, Arunachal Pradesh.

 

The programme was attended by the dealers of Naharlagun, Nirjuli, Doimukh and Banderdewa besides office bearers of Arunachal Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) and Bazaar Welfare Committees.

 

Jongkey appealed the office bearers of ACCI as well as Bazaar Committees of capital complex to pass on the information on this to other dealers. The Tax & Excise Department is initiating -services for VAT & CST registration, filing of sales/purchase invoices, filing of returns and obtaining of statutory forms through online mode.

 

Tapas Dutta, Assistant Commissioner, Tax & Excise Department briefed about the benefits of e-services.

 

The dealers can gain access to the services through the website of the department – www.aruntax.nic.in. Dutta also said that department of Tax & Excise is moving for complete computerization of tax administration in Arunachal Pradesh and other services like e-payment, e-check post, e-refund, e-assessment etc would be launched very soon.
