ITVoice News: Asus has introduced two new tablets, Asus Fonepad 8 (FE380CG) and MeMO Pad 8 (ME581CL), in the Malaysian market, that were originally announced during Computex 2014, without any details about the price of the products. As per the Hardware Zone Singapore (via Phone Arena), the two new tablets will be available in market from 10 October.
Asus Fonepad 8 (FE380CG) is advance version of its predecessor, priced for SGD 299 (roughly Rs. 14,300), whereas MeMO Pad 8 (ME581CL) is the LTE-enabled version of the Asus MeMOPad 8, it is priced at SGD 499 (roughly Rs. 24,000).
The Asus Fonepad 8 (FE380CG) runs on Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box OS with Asus ZenUI on top, it supports 3G connectivity. It is powered by 64-bit Intel Atom Z3530 1.3GHz quad-core processor, backed with 1GB RAM. It features 20.32-cm (8-inch) display with 1280×800 pixels resolution, 5MP rear camera and 2MP front camera. The dual sim tavlet will be vailable in four colour variants, including, Black, White, Gold and Red.
The MeMO Pad 8 (ME581CL) is introduced in partnership with KIDDI and was touted as to “world’s lightest 8-inch LTE tablet”. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box along with company’s Asus ZenUI on top. It features 20.32-cm (8-inch) full-HD display with 1920×1200 resolution, 5MP rear camera and 3MP front camera. It is powered by 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 2.3GHz quad-core processor. For connectivity purpose, it supports, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, 4G LTE, and NFC options.
