Taiwanese multinational Asus on Tuesday announced the launch of its R558UQ notebook in two models, the i7 models and i5 models priced at Rs 59,990 and Rs 48,990 respectively. Available across all leading online and offline retail outlets from January 09, 2017, the R558UQ has updated its mainstream lineup by adding latest features and performance updates. Both i7 and i5 models showcase the next-gen USB type C connectivity and advanced graphics Nvidia GeForce 940MX (N16S-GTR) with a performance, almost two times if compared with its competitors. Available in glossy dark brown IMR, i7 comes with SATA 1TB 5400RPM 2.5′ HDD storage, VGA web camera (Fixed type), a chiclet keyboard coupled with Asus Smart Gesture and Asus Splendid software. Also, the i5 model, which is available in matt golden, glossy dark brown, red and dark blue hues, boasts of a full HD display with resolution 1920×1080, anti-glare, higher pixel density and a memory of 8GB DDR4 RAM. “The demand for the mainstream notebooks has been steadily increasing over the years and hence this segment will be one of our key focus areas this year,” said Regional Head South Asia and Country Manager Asus India, Peter Chang.
