Taiwanese technology company Asus seems all set to unveil its Zenfone 4 series this year. The entire Zenfone 4 line-up, comprising (at least) five smartphones, was recently leaked online. A tipster named Roland Quandt on June 29 shared an image, allegedly showing the company’s ‘Frame the date’ event invite, scheduled to take place on September 21 in Rome. The image was posted on Twitter but now has been taken off.
The invite reads, ‘Take the walk on the wide side,’ in addition to showing two smartphones arranged in a V shape. Although nothing else has been mentioned yet, rumours indicate that he Zenfone 4V will come with a wide-angled camera.
Recently, five new smartphones of the Zenfone 4 line-up showed up on the company’s Zentalk forums. A screen grab from Google’s support site shows the handsets named as Zenfone 4 Max (ZC554KL), Zenfone 4 Pro, Zenfone 4 Selfie, Zenfone 4 (ZE554KL) and Zenfone 4V (V520KL).
Zenfone 4 Max (ZC554KL) is going to be the successor of the Zenfone 3 Max, and will come with a large battery. The Zenfone 4 Selfie, as its name suggests, will be geared at selfie lovers. The handset recently also appeared on GFXBench website, with the listing showing it with a Snapdragon 625 SoC. The smartphone is said to come with a 16MP rear camera and a 12MP front-facing snapper, with both being able to record 4K resolution videos.
The Zenfone 4 Pro is a new model in the series and could come with top-of-the-line specs, given the ‘Pro’ moniker. One can also expect the smartphone to be pricier than the rest of the handsets in the series.
