Asus has launched a new smartphone under its Zenfone series. It’s listed as Zenfone Live (ZB501KL) on the company’s website, but the pricing and the availability of the handset are not yet known. Zenfone Live is primarily aimed at selfie lovers who like to livestream videos.
According to Asus, the Zenfone Live is the ‘world’s first’ smartphone with hardware-optimized, real-time beautification technology. The highlight of the smartphone is its front-facing 5MP camera with f/2.2 aperture and 1.4um pixel size.
There is a front-facing soft LED flash along with dual MEMS microphones that eliminate background noise while shooting selfie videos. Real-time Beautification adds features such as skin smoothing, wrinkle removal, skin tone adjustment and more.
Users can go live on their favourite social media websites using the BeautyLive app. Some of the supported social platforms supported include Facebook and YouTube.
Running ZenUI 3.5 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the dual-SIM capable Asus Zenfone Live sports a 5-inch HD display of 720×1280 pixel resolution. It also has Bluelight filter and Asus TruVivid display technology included. Powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, the smartphone comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB/32GB internal storage. The phone also supports microSD cards of up to 128GB in size.
For imaging duties, besides the aforementioned front-facing camera, Asus Zenfone Live has a 13MP autofocus rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. There’s also the usual set of PixelMaster camera modes included.
The 4G LTE smartphone supports 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS, micro USB and 3.5mm headphone jack as major connectivity options. It is backed by a 2,650mAh non-removable battery that is claimed to deliver up to 16 hours of standby time and 471 hours of talk time. The smartphone will be available in metallic finish design in Shimmer Gold, Rose Pink and Navy Black colour variants.
