Asus has announced its latest smartwatch – ZenWatch 3, at a pre IFA 2016 event in Berlin, Germany. The Android Wear powered ZenWatch 3 is the company’s first smartwatch to come with a circular dial. It’s available in Gunmetal, Silver and Rose Gold colour options. The price of the smartwatch starts at 229 Euros and it’ll be available for purchase in October.
Asus ZenWatch 3 comes with interchangeable straps (including an Italian leather one) and has 3 buttons for accessing frequently used functions such as launching ZenFit activity tracking app and changing display modes.
In terms of specifications, Asus ZenWatch 3 comes with a 1.39-inch circular Amoled display of 400×400 pixel resolution. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor paired with 512MB of RAM. It offers 4GB of internal storage and runsAndroid Wear OS. The ZenWatch 3 is compatible with all smartphones running Android 4.3 and above, as well as iOS devices.
Asus ZenWatch 3 comes with IP67 certification which makes it dust and water resistant. It has a 340mAh battery with ‘HyperCharge’ technology that promises 60% charge in just 15 minutes. There’s also an optional watch stand and a battery pack that offers 40% of extra battery life.
In terms of connectivity options and sensors, Asus ZenWatch 3 offers Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, ambient light sensor, accelerometer and 6-axis gyroscope.
Asus recently launched its Zenfone 3 smartphone series in India. The line-up includes four smartphones – Zenfone 3 Deluxe, Zenfone 3 Ultra, Zenfone 3 Laser and Zenfone 3.
The Asus Zenfone 3, Zenfone 3 Deluxe ,Zenfone 3 Ultra and Zenfone 3 Laser are priced at Rs 21,999, Rs 49,999, Rs 49,999 and Rs 18,999 respectively. The Zenfone 3 (with a 5.5-inch display) and Zenfone 3 Deluxe (with Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor) are priced at Rs 27,999 and Rs 62,999 respectively. This makes the Zenfone 3 Ultra with Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor the company’s costliest smartphone in India till date.
