Asus has launched its latest smartwatch, the Zenwatch 3 in India. The wearable device comes in three variants – Gunmetal case with Leather strap, Silver case with Rubber strap and gunmetal case with Rubber strap. The three models are available for preorders from Flipkart and are priced at Rs 18,999, Rs 17,599 and Rs 17,599 respectively.
While the Gunmetal case with Leather strap and Silver case with Rubber strap models are available for pre orders now, the Gunmetal case with Rubber strap variant will be made available in January nex
t year.
Asus launched its Zenwatch 3 at a pre IFA 2016 event in Berlin, Germany in September this year. The Android Wear powered ZenWatch 3 is the company’s first smartwatch to come with a circular dial.
Asus ZenWatch 3 comes with interchangeable straps and has 3 buttons for accessing frequently used functions such as launching ZenFit activity tracking app and changing display modes.
In terms of specifications, Asus ZenWatch 3 comes with a 1.39-inch circular Amoled display of 400×400 pixel resolution along with curved 2.5D glass coating. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor paired with 512MB of RAM. It offers 4GB of eMMC Flash internal storage and runs Android Wear OS. The ZenWatch 3 is compatible with all smartphones running Android 4.3 and above, as well as iOS devices.
The device also has over 50 watch faces, which can be changed using the ZenWatch Manager smartphone app.The smartwatch works with the new Zenfit app as well.
It comes with IP67 certification which makes it dust and water resistant. It has a 340mAh battery with ‘HyperCharge’ technology that promises 60% charge in just 15 minutes. There’s also an optional watch stand and a battery pack that offers 40% of extra battery life.
In terms of connectivity options and sensors, Asus ZenWatch 3 offers Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, ambient light sensor, accelerometer and 6-axis gyroscope.
On a related note, Asus recently sent out press invites for its CES 2017 ‘Zennovation’ event, scheduled to take place on January 4. The company has also released an official teaser video to go with it as well.
