Ather Energy has unveiled India’s first smart electric scooter, the S340. The S340 comes with a powerful Lithium Ion battery pack, top speed of 72 kmph and a range upto 60 kms. The connected scooter has been designed for urban tech lovers who have a curiosity regarding futuristic products. As per Tarun Mehta, CEO & Co-Founder, “The future will be connected and inevitably electric and the Ather S340 has been built as a manifestation of this philosophy. It is an unapologetically electric vehicle, it has been designed and built mostly in-house with engineering precision.” The scooter has a robust structure and is intelligently designed. The scooter’s IP67-rated battery pack provides an uncompromised ride for 50,000 kms. The scooter is able to achieve an 80 per cent charge in 50 minutes in fast charging mode and can be charged from any 5A normal socket in normal mode. The scooter also has a distinct sporty look with zero lateral weight offset, a low centre of gravity and intuitive LED lights that respond to ambient light conditions. It has a touchscreen dashboard which integrates with cloud based data to assist in personalising the consumer ride experience. It also comes with features like user profile based sign in, on board navigation, pre-configured drive modes like sport and economy for allowing a personalised experience. The scooter’s integration with the S340 Mobile App helps the rider in staying connected with the vehicle and also to configure ride and profile preferences and sync navigation routes from a remote location. The company has filed 15 patent applications and has its manufacturing base in Bangalore and Karnataka. The company carries out sales only through the online model.
