Avaya, a global leader in business communications software, systems and services, presented 24 Pune-based software developers from more than a dozen organizations with Avaya Certified Snap-Ins Developer certification, after the first training session in India for the new accreditation.
The developers completed a three-day boot camp at Avaya’s research facility in Pune, the company’s largest R&D center globally, to showcase the potential of the Avaya Engagement Development Platform, the ease of ‘snap-in” application creation and deployment, and the benefits of using the Avaya-hosted Collaboratory tool for development environment. Avaya Snap-Ins are modular, reusable pieces of code that allow developers to quickly and cost-effectively integrate different communication features into business processes.
Participants gained hands-on experience of working with development experts to build, test and install their own Java applications. Avaya’s Engagement Development Platform, commonly referred to as EDP, brings together the customer experience management found in contact centers and unified communications tools to create enterprise-wide solutions that help businesses transform their customer experiences.
Vijay Mhaskar, Senior Director Pune R&D at Avaya India said, “Avaya is keen to drive innovation in the technology sector in India and globally. The software developer community is at the heart of the innovation drive; being part of the enterprise, whether public or private, means they are the ones who understand the needs of their business and are able to translate those needs quickly and easily into smart applications that work.”
