Avaya, a global leader in business communications, software, systems and services, is reinforcing its commitment to India’s digital transformation with a new leadership team to drive product innovation in its R&D centers across Pune and Bangalore.
The new team will ensure India retains a pre-eminent role in Avaya innovations. India is home to Avaya’s largest R&D center, providing more than 30% of worldwide product and solution development from its locations in Pune, Bangalore and Hyderabad.

These changes in the leadership team will enable us to accelerate our business momentum in the country by strengthening our position in the R&D sector,” said Vishal Agrawal, Avaya MD, India and SAARC.
The new roles will enable Avaya’s R&D team to make more defined assessments of rapidly changing customer needs and accelerate the pace of innovation in creating solutions, helping to further strengthen ties with Avaya’s major customers and partners across the country.
New Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Patrick Peisker, who is elevated to Director of Customer Engagement Solutions from Product Management Director, Cloud Enablement, will be based out of Pune. He will head the Contact Center business unit in India, while encompassing product management. In his new role, Patrick will look after development, quality assurance and operations across R&D sites. With more than seven years of association with Avaya, he has performed various roles from software design, engineering processes, and strategic senior management roles.
2. Raman Adlakha, who was previously R&D Director for Core Platforms and Endpoints, is moved to R&D Director Team Engagement Solutions. Raman will be leading the Team Engagement group, working on collaboration platforms providing UC Infrastructure solutions for enterprise and small and medium business customers, and also Avaya desk phones and phone apps, which are available for all major mobile and desktop operating systems. Previously, Raman was R&D Lead for Contact Center Applications for four years, responsible for leading the software engineering teams for developing innovative applications for contact centers.
3. Vivek Jaiswal, who is elevated to Senior Director and R&D Lead for the Avaya Networking Team will be based out of Bangalore. He will be responsible for all R&D teams from Avaya Bangalore, which includes engineering teams responsible for development and testing across Avaya Fabric Networking Portfolio. With close to 20 years of experience with building solutions and products for networking industry, Vivek will provide strategic leadership for developing and enhancing Avaya Networking innovative solutions.
The Avaya R&D center in Bangalore is the center for the Avaya Networking portfolio and works closely with other departments to provide technology for the company’s strategic focus in midmarket unified communications solutions, including its flagship Avaya IP Office Platform. The Bangalore R&D team works closely with the Avaya sales team to develop products and solutions for Avaya customers in India, across business functions and verticals, including leading companies and public sector institutions.
The Avaya R&D center in Pune was established more than 15 years ago and is referred to as the “Technology Capital” of the Avaya Engagement Solutions portfolio. With R&D, sales, services, operations and professional services teams, the center is truly an “all under one roof” establishment in the company’s global organization. With state of the art lab infrastructure, the Pune R&D center is frequently visited by customers and partners. The center has generated more than 100 patents with many more innovations in the pipeline. Reaching beyond customers and partners, the Pune R&D center has developed a comprehensive ecosystem, working with educational institutions, industry associations and start-ups to further strengthen Avaya R&D.
