BBC TopGear India Magazine celebrated its 8th anniversarywith the launch of a special October issue, bringing together the best symbol of the number 8 – the V8 engine.
“It’s been an incredible eight years for BBC TopGear Magazine in India. We’ve seen our share of highs and lows but importantly, we’ve seen our family of car and bike enthusiasts grow significantly and make us one of the most popular automotive titles in India. Right now, India may not be buying as many cars or bikes as manufacturers would have liked them to but it doesn’t mean Indians have stopped thinking about them. Cars are still first love for many of us and we’ve used our anniversary as an excuse to put together one of the biggest and most entertaining TopGear issue ever,” says Girish Karekra, Editor, BBC TopGear Magazine India.
Dedicated to speed, power, muscle and performance, BBC TopGear India magazine’s 8thanniversary issue serves up an exclusive drive of the new Porshe Cayenne Turbo, an exclusive and thorough road-test of the Audi S6, a fabulous feature on the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and other breath-taking machines, all in the same issue. Needless to say, the one thing common in all these machines is the V8 engine offering that blood-curdling sound and hair-raising performance. The 8th anniversary special also features some Indian icons like Maruti’s legendary 800cc engine in the humble Alto 800 and in a superbike, the Suzuki Intruder.
That’s not all. The TopGear team also arrowed down National Highway 88 in the Harley Davidson Night Rod and conquered untamable terrain with the most luxurious off-roader, the Range Rover V8 and the most purpose-built off-roader, the Polaris Rzr 800 All Terrain Vehicle.
In typical TopGear style, the 8th anniversary is rounded off in a flurry of fire and flames as the sizzling hot Jaguar F-Type V8 takes on a bunch of bright and fiery fire jugglers.
