The wait for the Blackberry Messenger service on Apple’s iOS may soon be over. According to recent reports, Alex Kinsella, a representative of Apple, had tweeted that the BBM for iPhone had been submitted to the Apple App Store for approval two weeks ago.
This would mean that the app is under review and could be approved anytime. The BBM or Blackberry Messenger, had been announced for both Android and iOS back in May 2013. The company had said that it would be available on these platforms within summer.
According to a walkthrough video, which appeared online revealed the features of the Android version of the BBM app for these OSs. It showed that the app would also have sharing options using the NFC technology through the Android Beam. The video though was pulled down after a request from Blackberry.
According to reports, the BlackBerry messenger for Android and iOS will be available by the end of this month. BBM is a BlackBerry-based app that allows users of BlackBerry devices to chat without any hitches or payments. They can even exchange audio, videos and images.
