Bengaluru hosts Enterprise IT World Security Symposium and Cyber Sentinels Awards 2018
Enterprise IT World a leading CIO Magazine in India, specialized as solutions advisory for Indian Business Technology Leaders hosted the Security Symposium 2018 on July 26, 2018 at Fairfield by Marriott in partnership with InfoSec Foundation. The security symposium addressed the future and emerging business needs which are influenced by emerging technology and diversified business and user demands.
As the name suggests, the event was an initiative to bridge the technology gap between the Indian Organizations Security Symposium was an Enterprise level cyber security event which aimed to gather CISOs and Cyber Security leaders from Enterprises PAN India to reinforce the cybersecurity skills in the country through knowledge sessions and tech talks with the biggest names in Enterprise Security. It also helped CIOs and CISOs to brush up their knowledge of the latest Information Technology and Information Security solutions
The event was inaugurated by the chief editor of Enterprise IT World Mr. Sanjay Mohapatra who shared his idea behind the symposium. The event was further taken forward by eminent personalities including Mr. Sushobhan Mukherjee Chairman, InfoSec Foundation, Mr. K J George, Minister of IT, Govt. Of Karnataka, Mr. Ravikishor Mundada, CEO, Cybersecurity Center of Excellence, Govt. Of Karnataka as well as Prof. NK Goyal, President, CMAI and TEMA.
Panel discussions on ‘Agility & Flexibility in adopting Cyber Security in IT Infrastructure’, ‘Impact of Cyber Security in Financial and Manufacturing Sector and the Road Ahead’ and ‘Enterprise Security Challenges & Increasing Role of CISOs in Board Room’ were carried out as well. Dr. Ananda Kumar, Global Integrated Delivery Leader of IBM Security, Mr. Ramkrishna Roy, Director-Cyber Security of BizCarta Technologies India and Mr. Atul Anchan, SE Senior Manager of FireEye were the moderators of the discussions respectively. The panellists of the discussion were from various organisations including Wipro, QUALFON, ITC, Terrago logistics, Toyota Fin Services, Delloite and Mercedez Benz who provided the audience with insights from the industry.
Tech talks on ‘Enterprise Endpoint: The new epicenter of control’ with Mr. Subhash Dutta, Head R&D and Malware Research at Sequretek, ‘Security Transformation in the Era of Digitization’ by Mr. Valan Sivasubramaniam, Manager System Engineering at Fortinet Technologies and ‘Demystifying Cryptocurrency and Blockchain’ with Pankaj Mittal, CIO at 5AM Ventures were also carried out successfully during the event.
This event was concluded by Mr. Sanjib Mohapatra, Publisher, Accent Infomedia Group who gave away the vote of thanks. He concluded by saying “It was a matter of pride to see the large amount of Cyber Security leaders that formed a part of the event. The highlight of the evening, however, was Cyber Sentinels Awards 2018 which was given away to recognize the work of leading CISOs and Security Leaders from across sectors for being an able custodian to their organization’s data by implementing the right security tools and policies.
The award winners had been finalized by a Jury consisting of Eminent Cyber Security Experts, Veteran CISOs, and Information Security Journalists. The selection was done based on the performance of CISOs and contribution to the security and growth of their organization.
