Blackberry Priv Android Smartphone’s First Impressions
BlackBerry finally launched its much awaited Android handset called BlackBerry Priv with a hefty price tag of Rs 62,990. We spent some time with the device and these are its first impressions.
Design BlackBerry Priv comes with an impressive sliding keyboard, which makes it a bit bulky but adds to the show. The smartphone features a curved edge display and a front speaker for better audio experience. The power button is located on the left side and the volume rocker keys are placed on the right with an in-between button that can be used to pull down the notification bar.
The device comes with a textured back panel which houses the 18MP rear camera with dual LED flash. There is a front 2MP camera available for selfies, too. All-in-all it looks like a premium flagship device.
Display BlackBerry Priv flaunts a 5.4-inch AMOLED display with 1,440×2,560 pixels resolution. The display offers vibrant colours and also consumes less power. It is nicely curved from the edges. The display is big enough to offer a delightful gaming or movie experience.
Hardware Coming to the hardware, the smartphone is powered by a 1.8GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor paired with 3GB of RAM. Its onboard storage accounts to 32GB, which can be expanded further up to 200GB using a microSD card. The device functioned properly without any hiccups. However, we witnessed some heating issues after moderate usage.
Software The BlackBerry Priv runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system. BlackBerry has also integrated its security features in the device to keep your data safe and secure. Android for Work support will enable users to securely integrate their device with the enterprise environment. The phone also delivers smooth integration with Google Play and easy access to IT apps.
Along with this, the users can also keep a check of the app permissions. The smartphone also comes pre-loaded with the DTEK app of the company, which keeps track on applications that access camera, location, microphone and personal information to keep your data safe and secure.
