In order to counter the plans of Reliance Jio, state run telecom operator BSNL has rolled out a new combo plan. The telecom operator has introduced a Rs 429 plan, which will offer 1GB data for the period of 90 days along with unlimited calling. The BSNL plan for Rs 429 will offer unlimited voice calls — both local and STD — and 90GB data with 1GB of daily FUP limit. Along with this, BSNL has also introduced some special vouchers which will enable users to cut down on call rates. The Special Tariff Voucher from BSNL is available at Rs 8 and it will lower the call rates to 15 paisa per minute and comes with a validity of 30 days. Recently, another telecom operator Airtel also introduced the new tariff plan starting at Rs 5. The Rs 5 data plan comes just days after the company introduced Rs 8 plan for prepaid customers. Airtel’s Rs 5 plan is for prepaid users and it offers users 4GB of 4G data. However, the validity of this data is only for seven days. Also, the Rs 5 prepaid plan is available only for 4G SIM cards, confirmed industry insiders to Gadgets Now. In addition, the Rs 5 plan is also a one-time recharge. Also mentioned is that once the seven days are over, the data won’t be carried forward. The company further added that new SIM card holders need to go for the plan within 54 days of the purchase of a new SIM. Existing Airtel prepaid users can also avail the plan.
