C-CAMP and Applied Materials India assist Biotech Start-ups to increase availability of indigenous medical supplies during COVID-19 outbreak.

                           

C-CAMP and Applied Materials India Private Limited (Applied Materials India) has announced  that it will provide financial and technical assistance to the two biotechnology based start-ups Coeo Labs and Biomoneta, to fasten the near-to-market technologies essential for the battle against COVID-19. It will help to identify and accelerate the deployment of the almost-ready solutions that have the capability to fight against the pandemic.

These two start-ups come under the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP), an initiative of the Department of Biotechnology (DBT). It was chosen by  C-CAMP’s COVID-19 Innovations Deployment Accelerator (C-CIDA).

C-CIDA  has received more than 1100 innovation submissions.  A complete and rigorous assessment wa done and finally 31 innovations were selected among them that have the potential to fight the COVID-19 . C-CIDA has opened a wide range of innovations such as diagnostics and various novel therapeutic approaches for air and surface sanitization and many more.

 “C-CIDA Stars for Impact”, Applied Materials India  has selected two start-ups  among the 31 innovations for working in the following high-priority areas:

  • Assisted Respiratory Technologies: Coeo Labs, for its non-invasive Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) product, Saans Pro
  • Air Sanitization Technologies: Biomoneta, for its air decontamination product, ZeBox

The Applied Science & Technology Research Accelerator (ASTRA) proposed many avenues for multiple start-ups under C-CAMP to understand the collaborations and investments with Applied Materials India closely. Applied Materials India will provide technical and financial support to C-CIDA, Coeo Labs and Biomoneta.

Srinivas Satya, Country President and Managing Director, Applied Materials India said that he felt extremely proud to see the start-ups coming up with such innovative solutions against the covid battle. According to him these start-ups need some technological support for proper scaling. He assured full support to these enterprises on behalf of their organization. They believe together then can accelerate the growth of these innovations which will help the nation in the battle against the pandemic.
