Canon has launched the EOS 5D Mark IV DSLR camera in India, a day after its global launch. Priced at Rs 2,54,995 (body only), the camera is the successor of 5D Mark III and will be available from the first week of September. The price with EF24-70mm f/4L IS USM lens is Rs 3,06,995. According to Canon, the EOS 5D Mark IV is both dust and water resistant. Its exterior is protected with a rubber coating at all of the joint areas.
Aimed for video professionals, the 5D Mark IV DSLR camera features a 30.4MP full-frame high-sensitivity sensor and Dual Pixel CMOS AF for rapid focusing speeds. It is powered by Canon’s Digic 6+ image processor with enhanced noise isolation and low-light shooting algorithms.
The camera comes with features such as support for Dual Pixel Raw (DPRAW) format images and 4K frame-grabs. With an ISO range of 100-32000, the EOS 5D Mark IV is capable of capturing high speed continuous shots at 7 frames per second (fps). Coupled with its 61-point (all points selectable), reticular AF system and 41-point cross type AF system, the camera covers a wider focusing area and has an extended vertical coverage.
Canon EOS 5D Mark IV sports a 3.2-inch fixed touch-enabled LCD display of 1.6 million-dot resolution. In terms of connectivity options, the new DSLR offers Wi-Fi b/g/n, GPS, NFC and USB 3.0.
Earlier this year, Canon launched its EOS-1D X MARK II professional camera. Priced at Rs 4,55,995 (body only), the camera is the successor to the EOS-1D X. It has a 61-point AF system and 41-point cross type AF, allowing photographers to access an expanded AF area (approximately 24% vertically) compared to EOS-1D X.
