Canon has unveiled a new image FORMULA DR-C240 office 
document scanner. The new model is best suited for businesses, facilitating check-ins and identity verification within various markets including the government departments, passenger transportation, accommodation services, rental and leasing services, insurance, financial and legal services.
The new scanner supports the image capture of different-sized documents, including passports. It integrates information into digital workflows for process automation and information distribution, increases collaboration amongst individuals and workgroups.
From the features perspective, DR-C240 scans up to 45 pages-per-minute (ppm), with both sides of an item in a single pass. The scanner is able to hold up to 60 sheets, including passports. It can also handle a variety of document types including thick, thin, long, or oversized documents, plastic and embossed cards. It functions double-feed detection and a one-touch release button which allows scanning a resume when a double feed is detected for a seamless and more efficient scanning experience. It further eliminates document pre-sorting activities, thereby, maximising a user’s time.
The scanner has Capture On Touch and Canon Capture Perfect software. Users can pre-configure tasks and choose from a wide selection of file distribution options. With CaptureOnTouch, scanned documents can be sent directly to third-party cloud applications.
