Change of guard at Philips Innovation Campus

image002Bangalore 13th November, 2013: Philips Board of Management announced that Dr. Wido Menhardt, CEO of Philips Innovation Campus (PIC), Bangalore will be moving out of India to take on a new role within Philips, it also announced the appointment of Mr. Srinivasa Prasad as the new CEO for PIC Bangalore. Srinivasa Prasad is currently the Head of Healthcare at PIC and he will take over as V.P and Head of PIC, with effect from 1 Dec 2013.

Wido will take on a new role as SVP and General Manager of PCCI’s Enterprise Imaging & Clinical Informatics (EICI).  Under his leadership , over the past three and a half years, PIC launched many emerging markets products, including Efficia Baby Warmers, India RIS/PACS (MDC based), IntelliSpace CCC (eICU for India), and ClearVue Ultrasound. He contributed to Philips India’s Healthcare journey to the No. 1 market position in 2013. He was also responsible for the growth of the Digital Lighting team at PIC and strengthening the focus of CL on Digital Innovation with recent digital product demonstrations at IFA.

Prasad, who takes over from him, has led the Healthcare organization at PIC for the last two years and during his tenure the teams have increased their value contribution to the global healthcare organization, and established several key competence centers spanning multiple business units at PIC. He has also helped establish the backend/console responsibilities for modalities including CT, MR and iXR. Over the last year, Prasad has led the initiative to extend PIC-originated innovations to South East Asia as well.

Prasad has worked for over three decades in the technology industry, playing a number of roles. Prior to joining Philips, Prasad was Vice President- IT at Fidelity Management Research India, a leading US Financial Services Multinational. He has also served as the General Manager for the Software Architecture Division for Sony in India, which he established. Earlier in his career Prasad worked for Alcatel Business Systems in France and Indian Telephone Industries in various capacities, leading teams in developing telecom products for the Indian and Global markets. An ardent cricket enthusiast he has captained and played for the Karnataka state and represented the Country earlier in his career.
