Closure Systems International Saltillo Receives Prestigious Global Quality Foundation Awards

imagesClosure Systems International (CSI) was recently honored by the Global Quality Foundation (GQF) at a presentation ceremony in Mexico City with two Gold (Elite) Awards. The GQF annually acknowledges companies throughout the country of Mexico which demonstrate leadership in Excellence, Innovation and Quality. The two Gold Awards received by CSI were:

Best Company in the category of plastic manufacturing – CSI en Saltillo S. de R.L. de CV

Director of the Year – Mr. Mario Garza, CSI Director of Manufacturing for Mexico and Costa Rica

The Gold Award for Best Company was accepted by CSI Saltillo Plant Manager Alejandro Mier Burnes. In his remarks, Mr. Burnes stated, “This significant award is the result of teamwork which began many years ago, in 1992. Throughout that span of time, each CSI Saltillo employee has contributed his/her personal dedication, discipline and perseverance to reach this high point today. I thank each of them for this important achievement and am very proud to share it with them. I am confident that CSI Saltillo will continue to set even higher goals, as we serve the changing needs of our customers.”

Mr. Mario Garza was among the founding group who began the CSI Saltillo manufacturing operations in 1992. As a testimony to his leadership, the plant recently celebrated its 20th anniversary. Mr. Garza has played several key roles in the expansion and growth of CSI Saltillo, as well as spearheading many beneficial community outreach projects.

Dignitaries of note who attended the GQF ceremony included Gerardo Ruiz Esparza, Mexico’s Secretary for Communications and Transportation, who was honored for his efforts to advance infrastructure development in Mexico. The award presentation ceremony was covered by the national news media in Mexico, with all major TV, print and radio outlets represented.
