Hosted by Trend Micro Incorporated (TYO: 4704; TSE:4704), CLOUDSEC 2016 gathers renowned experts and industry thought leaders from across the globe to empower organizations to “Take Control” in the battle against cybercrime, addressing prevailing trends in the cyber threat landscape and equipping organizations with actionable insights and technical know-how to improve information security and risk management.
Big data, cloud computing, mobility and Internet of Things have met with unprecedented level of sophistication in cyber threats. Data breaches, ransomware and online extortion have emerged as the new risk factors threatening the well-being of enterprises today. Gartner has predicted that by 2020, 60 percent of digital businesses will suffer major service failures due to the inability of IT security teams to manage digital risk.
Nonetheless, despite the continuing rise in cyber threats, organizations are not taking actions fast enough. Trend Micro’s recent cybersecurity benchmarking survey revealed that less than one in ten companies in APAC fully understand how cyber-attacks are performed and close to 50 percent of companies do not have security awareness program, as a result, 59 percent attribute “employees’ lack of knowledge” as the biggest insider threat to cyber security.
“Managing and empowering employees with a security-savvy mindset has to be urgently brought to the top of corporate agenda,” said Dhanya Thakkar, Managing Director and Vice President, Trend Micro, Asia Pacific. “People, technology and processes play equally important role in ensuring the comprehensive security of enterprise networks. Through a platform like CLOUDSEC, corporate participants and subject matter experts can look forward to a valuable experience crowd-sourcing and shaping the most efficient defense strategy.”
