Agreement is Largest Business Implementation Contract for Claritas® Investment Certificate Program
CFA Institute today announced that Cognizant has become the first corporation in the global technology and business process services industry to adopt the Claritas Investment Certificate program, a comprehensive global program designed to give all professional disciplines in financial services outside of investment roles a clear understanding of the investment industry and their professional responsibilities within it.
Approximately 1,000 professionals of Cognizant will take the certification program over the next two years to build knowledge and sense of responsibility around the investment industry. This will further strengthen Cognizant’s position as one of the leading providers of industry-aligned business process services to top financial services companies.
The Claritas Program will be supplemented by study tools provided by CFA Institute, the global association of investment professionals that sets the standard for professional excellence and credentials. The agreement is the largest business implementation contract for Claritas since its launch in 2013. Candidates will require around 100 hours of study time and will need to pass an examination in order to be awarded the certificate.
“Investing in talent is key to Cognizant’s focus on helping banks and financial institutions address their dual mandate of improving efficiency while driving innovation. The financial services industry is changing rapidly as a result of economic, risk and regulatory challenges. The Claritas Program will help our professionals expand their understanding and knowledge of industry functions, relationships and their professional roles, enabling them to make better decisions and provide superior counsel to our clients. This will further strengthen our ability to deliver value to our clients and help them become more competitive,” says Sumithra Gomatam, President, Industry Solutions, Cognizant.
“We are delighted to partner with Cognizant to enhance financial knowledge in the business process services industry, a key stakeholder in global financial services. At a time when the financial services industry is striving to restore trust, fostering a culture of professional best practices and ethics across all industry touchpoints, including in support sectors, will go a long way toward increasing public confidence,” says Paul Smith, CFA, Managing Director for Asia Pacific, CFA Institute.
The Claritas Investment Certificate is the newest education program offered by CFA Institute, which has more than 50 years of experience administering the CFA program, one of the most respected credentials in the global investment industry. It was developed in response to the global financial crisis as a way to bridge knowledge gaps across the industry. Cognizant was among the program’s 70 pilot partners in 2013.
