COMPASS, one of the leading eastern IT association finally decided to join the ongoing the FAIITA purchase restraint protest from Dec. 21.

PawanCOMPASS is one of the last associations from the eastern region to join as its other neighboring IT associations like Chhatisgarh, Bihar, Odisha, NECTA, CITTA and other have already supported the bandh from the day one, which started on December 15.

Speaking to ChannelTimes, Pawan Jajodia, President COMPASS said, “After the general body meeting with all our COMPASS members on Friday, we have decided to voluntarily refrain from the purchase, from national distributors and brand owners till further notice. In support of all India IT fraternities move against predatory price by OLS.”

Unlike other regional associations,COMPASS took a long time to extend its support to FAIITA from the east region, as the association was getting prepared and gathering the consensus from its members. This was also because COMPASS is organizing its annual IT expo in the month of February and most of its office bearer were busy in its gathering the sponsorship.

Saket Kapoor, one of the north based secretaries of FAIITA said, “With COMPASS joining the purchase resistant, now, we cover all the major states and cities. The week long nation wide purchase boycott has been impacting the sales of the brand owners and their national distributors. Soon we will circulate a first of its kind ‘online guidelines’ to all the major brand owners and NDs, which will gradually bring down the predatory pricing issue by January 15.”
