Infinity Retail, a part of Tata group firm that runs ‘Croma’ chain of consumers electronics, is planning towards enlarging its array of private label items by introducing a 3G-enabled tablet within the next two weeks and high-end refrigerators by Diwali this year.
Croma has already started presenting an affordable range of Croma-branded smart-phones that are sourced from China.
Ajit Joshi, Managing Director and CEO at Infiniti Retail said that they were going to expand their offering in the private label segment by rolling out more products in the coming days. They would be introducing 3G tablets in the coming 1-2 weeks.
Tablets that were sourced from China and Taiwan have been priced at Rs 9,990 by the company.
Infiniti Retail at present is selling Croma-branded 2G tablets, priced at Rs 6,990.
They will be also introducing high-end refrigerators under their private label which will be hitting the market around Diwali, Joshi added without sharing the possible price of the product.
Discussing about ‘Croma’ smart-phones, he said that they will be priced between Rs 8,990 and Rs 10,990.
Their idea was to add more smart-phone models, which would be loaded with various features. The smart-phones of the renowned brands were targeted at the upper segment of the society. However, the rest of people also had similar aspirations for good products and they would also try to address that.
On commenting the revenue of this fiscal year he said that they were targeting to achieve Rs 200 crore in 2013-14.
