With the food and agriculture sector expected to witness a growth of over 5.7% over the next 20 years, there is a need to sensitize and educate stakeholders on the latest technology in food processing industry thereby enabling augmented growth for their businesses. With this objective, CII has organised Foodpro, a pan-India exhibition that will focus on Food Ingredients and Health Foods, that will be held between 28- 30 August at Chennai Trade Centre to address this need. Danfoss India, which provides energy efficient solutions for the food processing and cold chain industry will be playing an active role in this edition by showcasing its latest innovations that will help stakeholders in this year’s edition.
“Growth in the organized retail and food service industry has contributed towards the interest in reviving the Indian Food Processing sector. Increasing demand for improved food quality, freshness, better hygiene standards have become top priority for customers today and tomorrow,” said Mr. Ravichandran Purushothaman, President, Danfoss India.
“As a key enabler in the sustainable farm-to fork process, Danfoss plays a crucial role in saving energy and operational costs in the refrigeration, food processing & retail and dairy sectors across packaging, processing and transport. Through FoodPro, we would like to showcase our commitment in addressing our stakeholder needs in further strengthening their energy capabilities,” he added.
India’s per capita GDP is expected to grow by 320 per cent over the next 20 years. This rising income and growing population is likely to increase overall food consumption by 4% per annum, indicating a huge growth opportunity for the entire food chain in the country.
While these opportunities in the food sector are important for the growth of the economy, early attention is required to manage its environmental impact and thereby ensuring sustainable growth in the future. To reduce the stress on our strapped energy resources, it is important to implement energy efficient technologies that help industries in saving energy and costs in the long run.
The Danfoss booth at the exhibition will showcase its range of solutions for the food processing and cold chain sector including optyma slim pack CU & microplate heat exchanger, LLZ /MLZ compressors for cold room and cold storage applications, industrial refrigeration line components such as ICF Valve station, ICV, STC, food retail applications such as Adapcool controllers and system manager, commercial refrigeration applications like filter driers, electronic expansion valves, solenoid valves and sight glass.
With more than 250 exhibitors showcasing the latest technology in food processing, packaging, cold storage, warehousing logistics and related products, the exhibition aims to draw the attention of an audience of more than 25,000.
