Banas Dairy from Gujaratwas bestowed with the Best Food processing Facility Award for using most updated energy efficient cooling technology

solutions provider Danfoss Global, today presented the prestigious 2014 Indian Cold chain Excellence (ICE) in the City,recognising cold chain players inDairy and Food Processing sectorwho follow best practices of energy efficiency in their facilities. BanasDairy from Ahmedabad received the Best Food processing Facility Awardforusing the most updated technology in Bulk Milk Coolers and Condensing Units such asmulti-refrigerant scroll compressors which help in achieving high energy efficiency levelsfor milk refrigeration, processing and storage.

With an annual dairy output worth over Rs 12,500 crore, Gujarat has acquired highest share of about 21 per cent in terms of total dairy output worth over Rs 60,000 crore across top 20 states in India, according to an ASSOCHAM study on dairy sector.
Having studied dairy storage and processing requirements, Danfoss has developed customized products for the Indian environment which can improve profitability. One of the largely adopted Danfoss applications is the Optyma Slim Pack which is the new condensing unit designed to fit into a light and compact housing, has already found great acceptance in the milk capital of India, Gujarat with many milk societies installing these applications in their plants to lower their total life cycle costs.
“The awards are an encouraging step towards giving national recognitionto stakeholders who have realized the need to conserveenergy through energy efficient practices and have updated their plants with the best technology such as SNG valves which provide reliable operation in dairy refrigeration plants. In addition to educating stakeholders we have also introduced buy-back schemes for condensing units to enable faster up gradation for dairy plants”, added Mr Premchandran.
