Danfoss India awards and recognises top performing suppliers on Annual Supplier Day in India

Seven awardees were selected based on their demonstrated performance in Quality, Code of Conduct and Delivery & Value Engineering

Danfoss India_LogoDanfoss India, the Indian subsidiary of Danfoss Global and the leader in Climate, Energy and Mobile Hydraulics sector, today organised its Annual Supplier Day as part of its initiative to recognise and foster supplier relations.

The event saw participation from existing and new suppliers who play an important role in boosting local manufacturing thereby helping Danfoss create ancillary job opportunities. During the day long program, suppliers had access to domain specific knowledge shared by industry experts wherein they were briefed on Business update & strategies, R&D and Procurement processes in terms of opportunities and challenges to better enable Danfoss to serve the local and global market requirements. Suppliers were engaged in a dialogue with senior leadership to build trust and common understanding to further mutual business growth.
Commenting on the significance of the meet, Mr. Ravichandran Purushothaman, President, Danfoss India said “At Danfoss, we truly value our suppliers’ contribution and consider them as trusted partners in our growth. In line with our Make in India initiative and endeavour to position India as a regional export hub, our existing supplier base will be expanded to meet the global requirements. Additionally, this collaboration with us will also help suppliers scale their own business as we cater to global markets.”

“Danfoss Global Procurement is evaluating a considerable increment in their current spend on Indian suppliers to the fold of five times in next three years. This will offer existing & potential new local suppliers with the capacity and capability to meet Global logistics standards at the desired Quality & Cost, a good opportunity for international market exposure”, added Mr. Torben Pedersen, Senior Vice President, Global Danfoss Procurement.

Seven award winners were selected based on quality of the supply, delivery time taken, innovation they bring to the table and degree of responsiveness. Awardees include Best Supplier Award 2014 (Varroc), Best VA / VE Supplier Award 2014 (Indo US MIM), Best Code of Conduct Supplier 2014 (Paloma), Best Quality Supplier(s) 2014 (JJ Glastronics and Sundaram Fasteners Ltd (Autolec)), Best OTD Supplier 2014 (Motherson) and Best Indirect Supplier 2014 (Sicgilsol)
