Oppo is in the process of developing a new budget-friendly smartphone called the Oppo A38. The company intends to introduce this device to the global market soon, having secured certifications from TDRA, SIRIM, NBTC, and GCF. Recently, a report from Appuals has unveiled details about the device’s renders, specifications, and pricing.
The forthcoming Oppo A38 boasts a 6.56-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1612×720 pixels, delivering high-definition visuals at a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. It supports a range of 16.7 million colors. The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Helio G80 processor, accompanied by 4GB of RAM and a generous 128GB of internal storage. Operating on the Android 13 operating system, it features Oppo’s customized ColorOS 13 user interface.
In terms of its camera capabilities, the A38 incorporates a 50MP primary rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture, in addition to a 2MP secondary rear camera equipped with an f/2.4 aperture. For selfies and video calls, it offers a 5MP front-facing camera with an f/2.2 aperture. The device ensures long-lasting usage with a substantial 5000mAh battery and employs a USB-C port for charging and data transfer.
Designed with a plastic body, the A38 holds an IP54 rating for resistance against dust and water. It features practical elements such as a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for secure unlocking, dual Nano-SIM card slots, a microSD card slot to expand storage, and retains the conventional 3.5mm headphone jack. Connectivity options encompass Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and Wi-Fi 5. It also supports various location services including QZSS, AGPS, GLONASS, GPS, Beidou, and Galileo, ensuring accurate positioning and navigation capabilities.
The Oppo A38, equipped with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, is anticipated to be priced at EUR 159 for the European market. The smartphone will be available in two color options: Black and Gold. Its release in Europe is expected in the upcoming month, with subsequent availability in India and other Asian countries shortly thereafter.
