Trend Micro Inc. has announced the appointment of Dhanya Thakkar as the Managing Director, Trend Micro for India & SAARC. The appointment of Mr. Thakkar, a leading Information Security executive, indicates the renewed focus of Trend Micro in providing momentum towards the further growth of the company.
With global experience at numerous start-ups as well as large global public companies, Dhanya has been associated with utmost innovation and has led business transformations for over 18 years. Dhanya joined Trend Micro, as a result of acquisition of IndusGuard, which he co-founded and for which he served as President.

Dhanya has also worked with Third Brigade, a leading provider of server and cloud security software where he led the Business Development and Security Centre as the Vice President. He was involved in all aspects of their strategy and operations and was instrumental in engineering the acquisition of Third Brigade by Trend Micro. Prior to joining Third Brigade, Dhanya held various leadership positions at Entrust from 1995 through 2005. He is also the co-inventor of two patented technologies and has published Internet briefs on software technology.
