DIGISOL Launches Energy Efficient Gigabit Ethernet Unmanaged Switch
Introduces DG-GS1024D-E, 24 Port 10/100/1000Mbps Unmanaged Switch
Smartlink today has announced a 10/100/1000 Mbps Unmanaged Ethernet rackmountable switch. The DG-GS1024D-E is designed to enhance network performance and comes with 24×10/100/1000Mbps ports. It offers best solution for accelerating bandwidth needs of small Ethernet workgroups. The switch uses store and forward packet switching technology which offers reliable data transfer. This switch is ideal for network connectivity for SOHO/SME environment. It is a best choice for enhancing your network with higher performance and efficiency. This switch supports Jumbo Frames, Fan-less Design and Plug & Play Installation. The DG-GS1024D-E is designed with a truly intelligent power saving functionality.
DG-GS1024D-E complies with the IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet protocol. It conserves energy using the following two methods: Inactive link detection and Cable length detection. The power usage adjustment feature in switch automatically reduces power usage when any network device connected to it is inactive state or shutdown. The devices conserves energy by automatically detecting the length of the connected Ethernet cables and adjust power usage accordingly. The shorter the cable length, the less power it consumes.
The DG-GS1024D-E is an excellent solution to expand your Gigabit network. With Gigabit speed, the DG-GS1024D-E gives flexibility and high bandwidth connectivity to servers, workstations and other network devices. It enables users to save time when transferring large files. In addition, it also supports Jumbo Frames to improve network utilization in large files transfer. The fan-less design ensures noiseless operation in small office environment, the DG-GS1024D-E is a perfect solution for small business and SOHO office deployments.
DG-GS1024D-E operates without any configuration. The built-in auto-negotiation feature of the switch will adapt its speed (10/100/1000Mbps) as per the remote host connected to its port. Each port supports auto MDI/MDI-X operation for uplink ports which eliminates the need for cross over cables or dedicated uplink ports. This feature gives true plug-n-play operation by reducing most common cabling errors during installations. Any port can simply plug to a server or a switch, using the usual straight through twisted-pair cable.
