The site is now rolling out its solution in the form of emojis that represent “Love,” “Sad”, “Haha,” “Yay,” “Wow,” and “Angry.”
Last month, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg hinted that the site was looking to expand the Like button, making it easy for people to communicate that they were upset by news.
However, as many people had asked for, for a long time the feature wouldn’t be integrated in the “dislike” button, said Zuckerberg.
It could be used for bullying and might make some users feel bad and negative, CEO said and added the Facebook was exploring ways for people to communicate without upsetting others by being explicitly.
The emojis will appear on any post in the news feed on desktop or mobile, as the case with the Like button. Underneath the post, all the reactions will be there and users will be able to see who reacted and how.
It is worth mentioning here that there’ll be no way of turning them off, once these buttons are rolled out to a users’ feed.
As a test, the site will launch these feature in Spain and Ireland. The reason for choosing these countries is, they’re relatively closed groups. In addition, Spain will allow the Facebook to try out how the emoji work for non-English users, according to Techcrunch.
