Dr. Lalit Bhasin, President, Society of Indian Law Firms has been elected as the Regional President of the North India Council(NIC) of the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC), the apex Chamber of Commerce in India exclusively focused on the Indo-US economic engagement and trade relations.
Dr. Lalit Bhasin is currently the President of the Society of Indian Law Firms and also the Managing Partner of Bhasin & Co. He was awarded Honorary Membership of the International Bar Association in Melbourne in 1994 for outstanding service to the legal profession. He is also the honorary Secretary General of The Bar Association of India and has received the Plaque of Honour by the Prime Minister of India in 2002 for outstanding contribution to the Rule of Law. He is the Executive President of the India Law Foundation.
Mr. Pratyush Kumar, President, Boeing India and Mr. Sanjay Mehta – Managing Director, Teleperformance India were elected as the First and Second Regional Vice President respectively of IACC-NIC for the year 2015-2016.

The Council, this year will consider strategies and programs with a view to achieve the Half-A-Trillion (HAT) dollar bilateral trade target that was set by President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in their joint statement of October 1, 2014. IACC also seeks to embellish the relationship between the two countries by providing policy inputs and intellectual insights. The idea is to set the trend for growth in business partnerships between Indian and American firms over the next decade, with a special focus on small and medium enterprises.
Indo-American Chamber of Commerce, North India Council recently organized its high profile flagship two day Summit – 11th Indo-US Economic Summit : Taking the Bilateral Trade to USD 500 Billion”. Senior Cabinet ministers, high-ranking diplomats and influential businessmen have increasingly participated in the IACC Summits, an indicator of IACC’s growing reputation as the premier bilateral platform. The Chamber’s widespread influence can also be measured by its growing roster of activities in India and in the United States plus this year the summit, inaugurated by the Minister of Finance, Corporate Affairs and Minister of Information and Broadcasting, GoI, Mr. Arun Jaitley had garnered notable support of the United States Commercial Service, the powerful trade promotion agency of the US government. The occasion was also graced by U.S. Ambassador to India, Mr. Richard Verma. Hon’ble Minister for Communications & Information Technology, GoI, Mr. Ravi Shankar Prasad felicitated businessmen who have made outstanding contribution towards bilateral trade relations between the two countries in Business Leadership Awards & Fellowship Nite on September 14th, 2015.
