Edimax Announces Industry First WAP2600X 10GbE Access Point 

Edimax Technology, a leading networking solutions provider, today announced the industry-first WAP2600X 10GbE access point for large-sized Intranet data transfers at incredible speed.

Edimax Technology will demonstrate the new 10GbE access point, which is built with the Annapurna Alpine AL-214 ARM-based CPU for rich media, production house or virtual reality industries where large, high-speed data transfers are required, at CeBIT 2016 in Hannover (Hall 15, F71).

The WAP2600X is a dual-band wall-mounted access point supporting 802.11ac Wave 2 and with a 10GbE LAN port. The latest 802.11ac Wave 2 revision delivers faster Wi-Fi speeds with more channel width (80 + 80MHz or 160MHz) and spatial streams (4 x 4 : 4) making it even more capable of high-performance connectivity. One of the key technology advancements – MU-MIMO (Multi-User MIMO) – improves data transmit times, helps Wi-Fi networks to scale, and increases capacity by allowing APs to utilize multiple streams that supports very high density (VHD) up to 100 client devices per radio simultaneously. Each Wi-Fi client device is prioritized to connect to the best Wi-Fi connection for network efficiency and device density, for a better user experience. Offering up to 10GbE Ethernet, the WAP2600X removes speed bottlenecks at wired switches and Network Attached Storage (NAS).

Alongside the WAP2600X, Edimax will display the Edimax Pro range of solutions for enterprise, education, hospitality and WISP. Other notable releases will include end-to-end 802.11ac Wave 2 from router to USB adapter, award-winning Smart Home & IoT (Internet of Things) applications and a wireless repeater series that brings dead zones back to life.
