- element14 and Altium sign exclusive master distribution agreement for the global distribution of CircuitStudio from Altium.
- Altium CircuitStudio will be sold through the element14 Design Center
element14 has today announced a new global agreement with Altium, a leading supplier of PCB design software solutions, to distribute CircuitStudio through the recently launched element14 Design Center.
This partnership will be a cornerstone of phase two of the element14 Design Center, which will incorporate a software store allowing customers to buy and receive licences online for a wide range of engineering software.
CircuitStudio will combine a streamlined GUI (Graphical User Interface) with a number of professional grade features, including powerful Native 3D PCB editing, straightforward schematic capture and project management tools, bringing the best of PCB design tools within reach of even more engineers.
CircuitStudio is planned for a full launch early in 2015. However, element14 and Altium will shortly be inviting those who are interested to register for the Beta version of the product. For more information and further details please visit www.element14.com/altiumcs.
David Shen, Group Chief Technology Officer for Premier Farnell, said: “I am delighted we are able to announce this strategic partnership with Altium. With CircuitStudio, we are able to meet the needs of more professional design engineers who demand a simple yet powerful EDA software with the features and functionalities to complete a complex PCB design.
“CircuitStudio is a perfect fit for element14 and its customers. It complements our existing range of software tools that are already sold through element14, and offers electronics design engineers a natural upgrade path for more complex PCB designs and greater degree of productivity through efficient project management tools.”
Jason Hingston, CTO at Altium, added: “We are excited about the partnership with element14 and the benefits this will bring to PCB designers. With CircuitStudio, we will deliver a product with a modern interface that will be easy to use but powerful enough for professionals. More than 25 years of Altium R&D experience around PCB design tools built the foundation for a product that designers can pick up and design with when needed, and we are looking forward to the launch of CircuitStudio together with element14.”
The element14 Design Center is a new resource for engineers offering the most comprehensive range of development tool information alongside product details and supporting material. The site also provides rich application and product information, including 360 degree images, videos and downloads, which are supplemented by stock availability and price, manufacturer details and engineer comments from element14’s leading community. When it launches early next year the software store will become an integral part of the Design Center, hosting some of the world’s leading design software providers in one place.
