The latest offering from Epson M-Series printers claim to print the page at 12 paise which is one third the cost of low quality refilled laser toners.
Jaipur, June 7th 2013: Leading digital imaging company Epson announced the launch of its new M-series range of Mono Ink Tank Inkjet printers.The M-series range of monochrome inkjet printers are for corporates who primarily print B/W documents and who demand the lowest running costs possible along with crisp print quality.
Commenting on the idea behind the product, Mr. SM. Ramprasad, Dy. GM, Consumer Product Group, Epson India, says, ” When many people think of office printing in India they think laser. We are here to change this. I am absolutely confident that our M series printers will drive the shift from laser to inkjet printing.”
Epson’s new business inkjet printers will help Epson in achieving an important goal of the company’s mid-term strategy to 2015 – which is to grow its business printing market with inkjet models that match or outperform similarly priced laser printers and offer customers up to unbeatable cost per page.
The company aims to get 25% growth in this fiscal year.With companies in this category not witnessing much growth, Epson has achieved an average growth of 20% for past 5 years. Mr. SM. Ramprasad,credits the growth to the mantra of Innovation which the company has been following.
The colour ink tank system printers launched earlier by the company were highly successful and well accepted by consumers and had contributed to the company’s revenue growth, he added.
“Thanks to these product introductions, we have a 33.8 per cent value share in the Inkjet printer market in India. The M-series printers will add to this now. ” he said. He also added, ” M series printers are the 1st step in office range printers. In the span of next 2 years we have plans of launching a complete range of office printers.”
The company launched two models under the M series — M100 single function mono ink tank system priced at Rs.9,999 and Epson M200 all-in-one mono ink tank system printer priced at Rs.13,999. It claims that printing a single page on these devices would cost about 12 paise. The running costs in thus 90% lower to genuine laser toner and 70% lower than third party refilled laser toner cartridges.
The printers also provide assured reliability with their long life span rated at 50,000 pages.The M-series printers are also highly compact and feature Ethernet connectivity which in turn will save office space.
Commenting on the promotional strategies to be adopted for the product,he added,” Our focus will be on channel development through dealer meets, training,etc. The company has already started many BTL and ATL activities. Initially SMEs will be targetted as the conversion rate is higher and bigger industry will follow later. ”
