ESET Continue To Grow Faster Than The Security Software Market

ESET, a global pioneer in proactive protection for more than two decades, announces that its growth outpaces the worldwide security software market based on its 2014 market share revenue, as reported by information technology research and advisory company, Gartner Inc .

According to Gartner’s Market Share: All Software Markets, Worldwide, 2014 report1, ESET recorded growth of 8.0 percent in 2014 in the consumer security software and endpoint protection platform (enterprise) markets, improving its market share from 4.0 percent in 2012 to 5.1 percent in 2014.[1] The company registered a 7.2 percent growth in consumer security and 8.6 percent in endpoint protection platform software.

The report also noted that the security market grew 5.3 percent in 2014, amounting to US$21.4 billion in revenue. With new technologies and software being adopted by businesses around the world, the number of vulnerabilities for cyber-criminals to exploit is expected to mutiply. Worldwide spending on information security will reach US$71.1 billion in 2014, an increase of 7.9 percent over 2013, with the data loss prevention segment recording the fastest growth at 18.9 percent. Total information security spending will also grow a further 8.2 percent in 2015 to reach US$76.9 billion[2] according to Gartner’s latest forecast.
