Exclusive Interview with Dhiraj Vijayvargia, Founder & CEO of Priyam Infosystems Pvt. Ltd.

Welcome to another exciting episode of IT Talks by IT Voice. Today, we have the privilege of speaking with Mr. Dhiraj Vijayvargia, the Founder and CEO of Priyam Infosystems Pvt. Ltd. Priyam Infosystems has been a trusted name in the accounting industry for more than 22 years, and Mr. Vijayvargia himself brings over 30 years of experience, particularly in business software applications.

Interviewer: Sir, welcome! Let’s start with your journey from the beginning. How did you get started, what were your learnings, and what motivated you to start your own venture?

Dhiraj Vijayvargia: Thank you, Vighnesh, for the opportunity. My journey began in 1994 when I started working with a software company based in Jaipur. This company was primarily focused on the accounting domain, offering accounting software and payroll solutions. It was called Natural Software, and it had a substantial customer base across the country. I served this company until 2002.

In 2002, I decided to start my own business, which I named Priyam Infosystems, after my son Priyam. There is a deep emotional connection with this name, not only because of my son but also because it was suggested by my father. Since then, Priyam Infosystems has been my passion and my way of contributing to the business world.

From that year onwards, I associated with Tally, a widely recognized accounting software. The experience of working with Tally has been incredible. It’s a wonderful company with a massive customer base, especially in the SME (Small and Medium Enterprises) sector. Tally plays a crucial role in helping businesses manage complex accounting tasks, such as GST compliance, invoicing, and returns.

Interviewer: Priyam Infosystems is a Tally Certified Five-Star Partner. Besides Tally, are there any other products you deal with?

Dhiraj Vijayvargia: Yes, Priyam Infosystems is a five-star recognized partner of Tally, and we are also one of the largest certified partners, serving over 19,000 SME customers. We provide a lot of customized solutions within Tally itself. Although we do consider other software solutions, Tally has been the most efficient and economical option for many of our clients.

We’ve solved many complex problems for businesses through our Tally customizations. For example, we offer solutions for online sellers, where there are specific integration challenges that we solve using Tally. We also cater to large enterprises using third-party ERP systems and dealer management systems, where we provide integration solutions.

Interviewer: You mentioned SMEs play a crucial role in the Indian economy. What fascinates you about working with SMEs, and what specialized solutions do you provide for them?

Dhiraj Vijayvargia: SMEs are truly the backbone of India’s economy. They are the growth engine, and the passion these entrepreneurs bring to their business is inspiring. The best part about working with SMEs is the long-lasting relationships we build with them. For example, when we started, some businesses had turnovers of 10-20 crores, and now, they have grown to 1,000 or even 3,000 crores. It’s a privilege to be a part of their growth journey.

Our solutions are tailored to meet the evolving needs of SMEs. For instance, we’ve developed integrations for online sellers and automobile dealerships that use custom API solutions and robotic process automation (RPA) to streamline repetitive tasks.

Interviewer: How does Priyam Infosystems build and maintain strong relationships with clients? Could you give an example of how you manage and support your clients to ensure their success?

Dhiraj Vijayvargia: When working with SMEs, their challenges evolve as they grow. Their teams expand, infrastructure becomes more complex, and they move to multi-location setups. It’s essential to understand their problems deeply and provide genuine solutions.

For example, when a business scales, they often require multi-location accounting systems with centralized data. We offer customized solutions that help them make faster decisions and manage operations smoothly. It’s about building trust, being responsive, and ensuring that our team is trained to deliver quality service.

Interviewer: Post-COVID, remote work has become more important, and cloud technology has gained prominence. How does Priyam Infosystems incorporate the latest global technology trends, like cloud and AI, into its offerings?

Dhiraj Vijayvargia: Cloud technology has indeed taken center stage, especially after COVID. Many businesses now realize the importance of having an anytime-anywhere work environment. At Priyam Infosystems, we’ve implemented cloud solutions that are secure and scalable, and we guide our clients to adopt these technologies.

We’ve also built robotic process automation (RPA) solutions to eliminate repetitive manual tasks for our clients, allowing them to focus on more strategic activities. Additionally, our custom solutions for multi-location businesses provide centralized accounting and reporting, helping clients manage their finances efficiently.

Interviewer: Your leadership philosophy has clearly played a role in your company’s success. Could you share your approach to managing your team and how you inspire them to achieve success?

Dhiraj Vijayvargia: My leadership philosophy revolves around focus and delivering on promises. If we serve our customers well, it reflects on the entire team. We aim to maintain a balance between customer satisfaction and team satisfaction because a motivated team is crucial to success.

To keep our team engaged, we organize various welfare activities, promote recognition and rewards, and create a positive work environment. Many of my team members have been with me for over 10, 15, and even 20 years, and it’s been a fulfilling journey together.

Interviewer: Finally, any advice for aspiring entrepreneurs, especially those looking to enter the software application industry?

Dhiraj Vijayvargia: My advice to aspiring entrepreneurs is to stay focused and disciplined. Hard work and dedication are critical in any industry. It’s important to plan, stay updated with the latest trends, and understand the needs of your customers.

India is full of opportunities, and there’s immense potential in the software and IT industry. Keep learning, be patient, and always strive to provide value to your customers.
