Reliance Jio has unveiled a new “Happy New Year Offer 2024” prepaid plan for users in India, providing enhanced benefits for subscribers. The plan stands out with its extended validity of 389 days, surpassing the typical 365-day duration of annual plans. Priced at Rs 2,999, the annual New Year prepaid plan offers a daily data allocation of 2.5 GB. Once the daily data limit is reached, users continue to enjoy unlimited data at a reduced speed of 64 Kbps. Additionally, subscribers receive unlimited 5G data, currently accessible in specific regions across India.
Inclusions in the plan extend beyond data benefits. Users gain unlimited voice calls, enabling them to stay connected without concerns about talk-time limits. The plan also offers 100 free SMS per day, catering to messaging needs. Furthermore, subscribers gain access to a variety of Jio apps, enhancing their entertainment and productivity. Jio apps such as JioTV, JioCinema, and JioCloud are part of the package, providing a comprehensive digital experience.
It’s important to note that the JioCinema subscription included in the plan does not cover the Premium subscription. Users interested in the premium features of JioCinema will need to purchase a separate subscription for Rs 1,499 via the JioCinema portal.
The validity of this plan is initially 365 days, but it comes with a 24-day validity voucher, extending the total validity to 389 days. Customers can conveniently purchase this plan through the Jio website or the MyJio mobile app, ensuring accessibility for a wide range of users.
In terms of cost-effectiveness, the changes introduced to the Rs 2,999 plan have resulted in a reduction of the effective cost per day for customers. Previously at Rs 8.21 per day, the new plan brings it down to Rs 7.70 per day, providing added value for subscribers.
Beyond the prepaid plan announcement, Reliance Jio has recently introduced AirFiber in India. This innovative service doesn’t rely on traditional optical fiber cables for internet access and is easily installable in areas with 5G coverage. AirFiber offers faster internet speeds, reaching up to 1.5 Gbps, and features Wi-Fi 6, parental controls, and a built-in security firewall, making it suitable for both home and office use.
The expansion of Jio’s network coverage is notable, with AirFiber being available in various regions. In Andhra Pradesh, cities like Anantapur, Guntur, Kakinada, Tirupati, and Vijaywada are covered. Delhi and its surrounding areas are part of the coverage in the Delhi NCR region. In Gujarat, cities like Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, and others are included. Karnataka sees coverage in cities such as Bangalore, Mangalore, and Mysore. Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana are also part of the regions with AirFiber availability, covering cities like Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, and more.
