F-Secure and Globe Telecom, the leading telecommunications operator in the Philippines, have struck a deal to provide safe personal cloud services to Globe’s mobile subscribers. With F-Secure-backed Globe Cloud, subscribers have a safe place to store their photos, videos, documents and other files. They can also integrate content to Globe Cloud from other online services, all in one place.
Consumers are creating vast amounts of content with their mobile devices and computers. That content (photos, videos, documents, etc.) is usually spread across various devices and online services. With a personal cloud, consumers can access all their files in one place. F-Secure’s cloud technology also uniquely integrates content from other services like Facebook and Dropbox. Content can then be accessed, streamed and shared via smartphones, tablets, laptops and computers. F-Secure has built its cloud services for privacy from the ground up, so consumers can be sure their content is safe.
“The service has already been very successful among our subscribers,” says Glenn Estrella, Vice President of Digital Media at Globe. “As a company, we are committed to enriching our customers’ lives through ease and relevance. We chose F-Secure’s personal cloud service because it lets us do exactly that. It’s intuitive to use and enriches people’s everyday digital lives.”
“We’re happy to add Globe to the list of telecoms who are benefiting from our personal cloud offering,” says Paul Palmer, Vice President, Asia-Pacific at F-Secure. “Personal cloud services are known to increase customer loyalty and satisfaction. This is a service people will use every day, so it’s a great way for Globe to maintain and nurture their customer relationships.”
The number one security partner for operators worldwide, F-Secure offers safe cloud services through more than 100 operators globally. F-Secure securely stores billions of photos, videos, documents, and other files for millions of end customers. F-Secure’s ever-increasing cloud content currently makes up several petabytes of data.
Globe Cloud is available for Android, iOS and Windows Phone 8 smartphones and tablets, and for PC and Mac computers and laptops. Currently Globe mobile subscribers receive 1 GB of free cloud storage space. Globe also plans to make the service available to broadband subscribers in the future.
